Dude, I'm not even happy to talk about this, because it's something that I am genuinely upset about, and it's about the Unity installation fee thing.
By just this one decision to charge developers a fee per installed game, they've ruined their reputation in mere seconds more than anything they've done before. People and developers are already seeking alternatives like Godot and Unreal.
This isn't the thing that upsets me, the developers have the right to think about switching engines and I can't blame them for it. What upsets me is that Unity is LITERALLY DOUBLING DOWN on their decision and constantly defending it and... "clarifying" it (yes, the quotation marks are necessary, they're doing terrible at it) instead of doing the opposite and listen to their own community and turn back in the decision.
As someone who's dreamed about making a game in Unity for so long and has seen this happen and unfold, I'm genuinely disappointed
